The Biscuit - Having fun with food in Chapel Hill

So The Biscuit had realized there hasn’t been much discussion about it’s namesake on this site. Considering that the baked good is a daily staple for us, The Biscuit decided there needs to be more coverage.

From now on, when having a biscuit, The Biscuit will document it.

Hopefully one day we’ll pick the best one.

For now, let’s start off with a staple in the area, Bojangle’s. Yes, it’s a fast food joint known for chicken, but if you hit it at the right time, the biscuits are amazing.

Sometimes they might be a little dry or doughy depending on when you go. However, when they’re warm and fresh, they’re so light and buttery and delicious. Try it with loads of honey, the way The Biscuit most likes to enjoy them.

Keep coming back. There’s always fun stuff to share. The Biscuit is preparing to conquer a 6-pound burrito, but that might take some time to get ready for. And don’t forget to let The Biscuit know about your favorite biscuit!

DUDE! biscuits are the cats meow! i’m assuming you’ve had capitol grill? it’s most certainly the go-to biscuit in bean town, but a bit of a cliche. although, my momz got them for my graduation party, and i ate left over biscuits that entire week. i’d butter ‘em up, wrap them in a paper towell, and nuke ‘em for a half a minute. that time of our lives was a great time, and capitol griscuits hold a special place in my heart because of that.
but DUDE! you gotta rock the gravy on the biscuit!!! come on maaaaang!

My recommendation on honey and biscuits, developed at my grandmother’s table as a pre-teen: Do *not* split the biscuit. Take a knife and insert it into the biscuit’s side, part-way in. Do *not* go through the other side. Wiggle the knife around to make a pocket inside it, but *do not* enlarge the exterior hole any more than you have to. Once you have a decent pocket, you’ll probably also have a hole large enough to pour honey into. Remove knife. Hold the biscuit in one hand, with the hole pointed up. With the other hand, pour a thin stream of honey into the biscuit hole. Try not to make too much of a mess. Depending on the size of the hole and pocket, you may or may not be able to get a decent amount of honey in. But the biscuit will also gradually absorb some of the honey, so you may be able to get more in, especially if you do this slowly, or take a break. When you finally run out of patience, point the biscuit hole at your pie hole, and take a bite. This may be messy, but just imagine you’re eating a jelly doughnut, except it’s a honey biscuit instead. Duh.

Repeat as often as you think prudent.
