This is the last time we talk about chocolate for a while, I swear. It just seems appropriate since Valentine’s Day is this week and today.
So, for readers out there who travel, The Biscuit will let you in on a little treat.
If you’re ever in Boston, go without thinking straight to the Belgian Truffle House in Somerville. I mention this because I just got some in the mail from home, and one bite made me remember how tremendously excellent they are. You can order a few things online, as well.
The Biscuit has tried truffles touted as “world famous,” the “best in insertcityhere” and the like, but nothing can compete with these chocolate wonders. The consistency – nice thick shell and solid, but very smooth, creamy center – and flavor - intense chocolate, coffee, raspberry, amaretto - feels so good in the mouth and on the tongue.
They’re handmade by one lady, Marie Kelly, and she does a heck of a job.
That’s all that needs to be said. Make it a priority in your life to try some of these.
